Synopsis
Blood Money (2017) is a wilderness survival thriller from director Lucky McKee, available to watch online on iFILM. A white-collar crook, a bag of stolen millions, and three hikers who stumble onto cash that isn't theirs. Greed has a price.
Businessman Miller flees with money embezzled from a client, only to lose the bags mid-skydive over a forest. The cases land near three friends rafting down a river, and a calm trip into the backcountry curdles into a nerve-shredding chase. Miller tracks them down and will stop at nothing, while the friends start tearing into each other, the money poisoning their trust faster than their pursuer can close the distance.
John Cusack plays the predator with slick, smiling menace, with Willa Fitzgerald and Boyhood's Ellar Coltrane caught in the trap beside him. It's essentially a loose retelling of 1948's The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, dropped into the wild American woods.
