At his outpost he keeps tamed zombies as living batteries and waters a garden among the corpses. Then he delivers Grace to the lab — a girl bitten but stuck halfway between human and monster. Her sister tracks Rhys down and, at gunpoint, forces him to turn around and pull Grace back out.
