Synopsis
One Piece Film: Strong World (2009) is a Toei Animation feature you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Munehisa Sakai with the full TV cast returning. Notably, series creator Eiichiro Oda personally wrote the screenplay — a rare move that makes this one of the few One Piece films considered canon.
The story centres on Shiki the Golden Lion, who escaped Impel Down twenty years ago and has spent the time building a plan to topple the World Government. He crosses paths with the Straw Hat Pirates and abducts Nami, whose expertise in meteorology slots directly into his scheme. Luffy and the crew are stranded on an island overrun with enormous mutated creatures, cut off from their ship, and forced to fight their way to Shiki before his plan reaches its final stage.
At 113 minutes, the film is paced more like a long theatrical event than a standard episode arc — the action sequences are wider in scope and the threat carries genuine weight. For newcomers, it works as a standalone entry point; for longtime fans, Oda's direct involvement makes it required viewing. Stream One Piece Film: Strong World (2009) online on iFILM.
