Concert for George

Concert for George (2003) is a documentary concert film you can watch online on iFILM. On 29 November 2002 — exactly one year to the day after George Harrison's death — the Royal Albert Hall in London hosted a night of music in his memory. Harrison's widow Olivia and son Dhani put it together; Eric Clapton and Jeff Lynne handled the musical direction.

The lineup was something close to impossible to assemble otherwise: Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Tom Petty, Billy Preston, Ravi Shankar, his daughter Anoushka Shankar, and many others who shared years of music with Harrison. The set moved from Beatles songs to his solo work to the Indian classical tradition he spent decades exploring — all captured from over twelve camera positions by director David Leland. Proceeds went to Harrison's Material World Charitable Foundation.
