TV-YSeason 18
Won't you be my neighbor?
Synopsis
Season 18 of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood (1968) is up to watch online on iFILM — fifteen 1987 episodes that hand small children words for things they can't quite name yet.
The year is built in blocks. The first looks at alike and different: everyone is one of a kind, yet we share more than we'd guess, and Bob Dog shows where a pretend pup and a real one line up. The second block is the bravest thing a preschool show could try — nighttime, the dark, being scared. Rogers dims the lights at home, folds out the sofa bed, and deliberately checks underneath for "monsters." The closing run turns to kindness, to ourselves as much as to anyone else.
There's no pressure to any of it. The same level voice that ran the PBS program since the late sixties fits these subjects best — few shows talk about a child's fear this calmly. Stream Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Season 18 online on iFILM.
