The opener breaks pattern. Instead of a jungle drop, a pair is left adrift at sea, where heatstroke and circling sharks do the work the forest usually does. From there it's the Texas backcountry with wild boar and a flash-flood scare, a Belize jungle where a jaguar stalks the people hunting for food, Ecuador's drenched cloud forest with its trench foot and lightning, and the cold mountains of Croatia. The finale hands the challenge to fans — pro surfer Anastasia Ashley and YouTuber Cory Williams test whether they can hack it unplugged.
