Synopsis
Sex and the Single Girl (1964) is a Hollywood screwball comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Richard Quine borrowed the title from Helen Gurley Brown's 1962 bestseller — the book that told American women they didn't need marriage to have a life — and built a brisk farce around it starring Tony Curtis and Natalie Wood.
Bob Weston (Curtis) runs a sleazy tabloid and has set his sights on Dr. Helen Brown (Wood), a 23-year-old psychologist who wrote a book about love and sex while staying unmarried. Bob borrows the identity of his henpecked neighbor Frank (Henry Fonda) to get close to her. She's sharper than he counted on, and Frank's wife Sylvia (Lauren Bacall) keeps pulling the scheme apart.
Fast, cheerful, no pretensions — exactly what a star-studded studio comedy from the mid-sixties is supposed to feel like. Watch Sex and the Single Girl (1964) online on iFILM.
