Robinson Crusoe on Mars
One U.S. astronaut pitted against all the odds beyond this earth!
Synopsis
Robinson Crusoe on Mars (1964) is a sci-fi adventure you can watch online on iFILM. After his ship fails in orbit, Commander Draper ejects onto the Red Planet — alone, save for a monkey named Mona.
To survive, Draper has to coax oxygen, water and food out of a world that looks utterly dead. The solitude wears on him until he finds a companion: a fugitive he names Friday. Together they have to stay ahead of the alien ships that enslaved him.
Directed by Byron Haskin of The War of the Worlds, the film leans on practical craft rather than effects-house polish, with a young Adam West turning up before his Batman days. Shot among the dunes of Death Valley, it's a resourceful, handsome slice of mid-sixties science fiction. A treat for anyone who loves vintage genre filmmaking.
