Buddy

Buddy (1997) is a family adventure you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Caroline Thompson and starring Renée Russo. Thompson, who wrote the screenplay for Edward Scissorhands, based the film on the real life of American socialite Gertrude Lintz, who turned her New York estate into something between a stately home and a private zoo.

Champion dogs, chimpanzees trained to set the table and mix drinks, a colony of rabbits, a pair of owls — Gertrude kept them all. But her deepest attachment was to Buddy, a gorilla she raised like a child. Robbie Coltrane and Alan Cumming round out the eccentric household.
