Synopsis
White of the Eye (1987), a British psychological thriller from director Donald Cammell, is available to watch online on iFILM. Cammell co-directed the 1970 cult film Performance with Nicolas Roeg; this is his adaptation of Margaret Tracy's novel Mrs. White.
In a wealthy Arizona suburb, someone is killing local housewives in their homes and arranging what's left into compositions of household objects and body parts. Sound specialist Paul White (David Keith) installs expensive audio equipment in exactly those houses. The police notice the overlap. His wife (Cathy Moriarty) refuses to accept it. The longer she investigates, the less solid her certainty becomes.
Cammell cuts in jolts — nonlinear flashes, a sound design that crowds every scene, logic that blurs into dread. Closer to a fever than a murder mystery. Watch White of the Eye (1987) online on iFILM.
