Synopsis
Drop the king of the jungle into 1940s Manhattan and you get Tarzan's New York Adventure (1942), an MGM adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Johnny Weissmuller returns as Tarzan, Maureen O'Sullivan plays Jane, and Johnny Sheffield is their adopted son, known simply as Boy.
Circus owner Buck Rand snatches Boy from the jungle to make him a headline act, and Tarzan and Jane chase the kidnappers all the way to New York. A man used to vines and elephants now has to deal with skyscrapers, traffic and a courtroom — there's a famous leap from a high window and a herd of circus elephants come the finale. Directed by Richard Thorpe, this was the sixth and final entry in the Weissmuller–O'Sullivan run before the franchise left MGM.
