Holiday Inn

Holiday Inn (1942) is a Hollywood musical comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Mark Sandrich and starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. Crosby plays Jim Hardy, a singer who walks away from the spotlight to run a farm in Connecticut — only to discover that farming is harder than performing. Fred Astaire plays Ted Hanover, Jim's former partner and perennial rival, who shows up just as Jim finds a new singer, Linda Mason, played by Marjorie Reynolds. The rivalry over Linda drives the plot, but the real draw is watching Crosby and Astaire operate in completely different registers — one easy and warm, the other all coiled precision.
