Consecration

Consecration (2023) is a British horror-thriller directed by Christopher Smith — watch online on iFILM. Grace is an ophthalmologist with no faith to speak of. Her priest brother is dead, the Church calls it suicide, and she doesn't buy it.

She travels to the remote Scottish convent where he fell. The nuns are silent, the cliff-edge setting is relentlessly grim, and the Vatican's representative — played with quiet menace by Danny Huston — acts as though her presence is already a problem. Jena Malone carries the film: a rationalist trying to hold her ground as the convent starts suggesting she isn't as outside the Church's history as she thought.
