Synopsis
Boarding Gate (2007) is Olivier Assayas' jittery thriller, ready to watch online on iFILM. At its center is Sandra, played by Asia Argento — a woman with a buried past and her nerves fully exposed.
She was once the mistress of businessman Miles (Michael Madsen); now what links them is money, mutual blackmail and a few dangerous games. One meeting slips out of her hands, and Sandra runs from Paris to Hong Kong, where a trap is already waiting instead of a fresh start.
Assayas isn't after a tidy whodunit but a study of unraveling — handheld camera, jagged rhythm, a heroine on the brink. Argento drags the film forward almost physically, while Madsen plays cold and soft-spoken. It rewards viewers who like an auteur's eye inside genre cinema more than a clean plot machine.
