Synopsis
Teletubbies (1997) is a British pre-school series you can watch online on iFILM. On the rolling green hills of Teletubbyland live four round little creatures with screens on their bellies: Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po.
Every episode runs on the gentle logic small children love — bright colors, a slow pace, plenty of repetition, and a sun with a giggling baby's face rising over the horizon. The Teletubbies tumble in the grass, hug, babble in their own soft language and watch short real-world clips that play right on their tummies. It's less a cartoon than a first, careful window onto the world for kids who can't talk yet.
Created by Anne Wood and Andrew Davenport for the BBC, the show went on to air in dozens of languages around the globe. It's built precisely for the attention span of a toddler, which is why grown-ups often find it baffling while two-year-olds are completely hooked.
