Synopsis
Trapped in Paradise (1994) is a Christmas crime comedy you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by George Gallo, the screenwriter behind Midnight Run. Nicolas Cage, John Lovitz and Dana Carvey play three brothers who really should have stayed home for the holidays.
The setting is a small Pennsylvania town called Paradise, Christmas Eve. Bill Firpo is the straight one — honest, reluctant, perpetually outvoted. His brothers Dave and Alvin have just been released from prison: one is a compulsive liar, the other can't stop stealing things. They discover the local bank has no alarm and no security guard. The robbery goes surprisingly well. Getting out of town is another matter. The residents of Paradise are so warm and generous that leaving starts to feel like a moral impossibility, and the snowstorm handles the rest.
Madchen Amick, Richard Jenkins and Florence Stanley round out the cast. The film is uneven and cheerfully unpretentious about it — a minor studio comedy that knows exactly what it is. Sometimes that's enough. Stream Trapped in Paradise (1994) online on iFILM.
