Classmates Minus (同學麥娜絲, 2020) is a Taiwanese tragicomedy from director Huang Hsin-yao that you can watch online on iFILM. Four old schoolmates hit middle age and find their teenage plans nowhere in sight.

One dreams of making a film and never does. Another is stuck on a temp contract that won't end; a third sells insurance behind a salesman's grin; the fourth quietly folds paper effigies for the dead. They still gather at the same table they did as boys, except the talk is mortgages now, weddings that fell through, jobs they merely tolerate. Huang Hsin-yao, who made The Great Buddha+, narrates the whole thing himself, ribbing his characters with affection rather than mercy. Sad, funny and unmistakably Taiwanese.
