Synopsis
Torrente 2: Mission in Marbella (2001) is a Spanish slapstick action-comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Santiago Segura returns as writer, director and star — playing the same slovenly, corrupt Madrid cop from the first film, now parachuted into Marbella to stop a villain's scheme to blow up the city with a missile.
The whole thing is a gleeful send-up of Bond-style action films. Torrente can't ride a motorcycle, fumbles every weapon, and manages to humiliate himself in front of witnesses at every turn. Segura built an ensemble around his antihero that includes Tony Leblanc, José Luis López Vázquez and Inés Sastre, each feeding the chaos in their own way.
The sequel hit Spanish cinemas in 2001 and broke box-office records, outselling every domestic release in Spanish film history — beaten only by its own predecessor.
