Under the Same Moon

Under the Same Moon (La misma luna, 2007) is a Mexican drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Patricia Riggen follows two people separated by a border: nine-year-old Carlitos in Mexico and his mother Rosario, who has been working without papers in Los Angeles for four years. Adrian Alonso and Kate del Castillo play the leads.

Every Sunday, mother and son share a few minutes on a payphone. Then Carlitos's grandmother dies and the calls stop. The boy does the math: he has no one left, he knows the city his mother is in, and he's willing to walk there if he has to. What follows is a crossing through rough terrain with strangers who have their own reasons for moving north, while Rosario in L.A. races through her own set of dead ends trying to keep her job and her footing in a country that doesn't want her there.
