Synopsis
The Red Shoes (분홍신, 2005) is a South Korean horror film you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Kim Yong-gyun and led by Kim Hye-su, it runs 108 minutes of slow-burn dread built around a pair of shoes nobody should have picked up.
Sun-jae walks out on a cheating husband and moves into a worn apartment with her young daughter. On a subway platform she spots a striking pair of high heels and takes them home. From then on, everyone who touches them is seized by a craving to possess them — and that envy turns bloody fast. Her daughter won't give the shoes back, friends curdle into rivals, and the heels trail a long, genuinely vicious history behind them.
The movie sits squarely in the 2000s wave of Korean horror: less jump scare, more clammy unease, sickly color, and female obsession. It bends the old Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale toward body horror. Best for viewers who want Asian horror that lingers rather than pounces. Stream The Red Shoes (2005) online on iFILM.
