Synopsis
Weekend at Bernie's II (1993), directed by Robert Klane, is an American comedy sequel — watch it online on iFILM. Larry Wilson and Richard Parker are back, still dragging their dead boss around, but this time they've found a key in Bernie Lomax's wallet that points to a safe deposit box in the Caribbean holding two million dollars. Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman return, with Terry Kaser again as the considerably inconvenienced Bernie.
There are new complications. Larry and Richard have been fired on suspicion of stealing the money Bernie embezzled, which gives them every reason to go find it themselves. Meanwhile, local voodoo practitioners on the Virgin Islands have their own interest in Bernie — they need him animated long enough to reveal where the cash is hidden. The result is a corpse that walks around on its own schedule, which the two leads are consistently unprepared for.
The original film ran one joke for ninety minutes and somehow made it work. This one moves the same premise to a tropical backdrop and adds the voodoo wrinkle, which at least gives Bernie something to do besides being carried.
