Fantozzi in Heaven

Fantozzi in Heaven (Fantozzi in paradiso, 1993) is an Italian comedy to watch online on iFILM, directed by Neri Parenti and starring Paolo Villaggio in what became near-final appearance as Italy's most beloved loser, accountant Ugo Fantozzi.

The setup is bleaker than usual. Ugo's colleagues keep dying off, and after one too many funerals he ends up in hospital himself — the diagnosis gives him a week or so. Facing that deadline, the man who has spent his whole life being humiliated finally decides to do everything he always dreamed of. His loyal wife Pina, played by Milena Vukotic, stays by his side through every last misadventure.

The Fantozzi series ran across eight films from 1975 to 1999 and became a fixture of Italian popular culture — Villaggio's hapless everyman is the country's answer to Chaplin's Little Tramp, if the Tramp had a desk job and even worse luck.
