Synopsis

After dismantling a pirate fleet in the South China Sea, Dragon Ma gets promoted to district police chief — a reward that turns into a trap fast. Gangster bosses, anti-Manchu rebels, old-guard loyalists and a beautifully staged frame-up land him in a prison cell. The only exit is to expose corrupt superintendent Chun, which would be straightforward if half the city weren't trying to stop him. Maggie Cheung co-stars alongside a lineup of 1980s Hong Kong talent.
