Synopsis
Kung Fu Dunk (功夫灌篮, 2008) is a Hong Kong–Taiwan action comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Jay Chou plays Fang Shi-jie, a martial arts orphan raised inside a kung fu school — lightning reflexes, killer leaps, and zero control over his temper. When that temper gets him expelled, a slick entrepreneur named Wang Zhou spots him at the rim and sees something entirely different.
A slam dunk built on a flying side kick turns out to be devastating on a basketball court. Wang Zhou signs Fang up for the university varsity team, and the culture clash plays out in full slapstick. Threaded through the sports comedy is a running gag of an investigation: Fang has no idea who his real parents are, and the search keeps pulling in more characters than anyone bargained for.
Director Zhu Yanping pitches it squarely in the tradition of Hong Kong crowd-pleasers — broad humour, flashy athleticism, and a plot that does not take itself seriously for a second. Good for exactly what it promises. Stream Kung Fu Dunk (2008) online on iFILM.
