Run to You

Run to You (Corro da te, 2022) is an Italian romantic comedy directed by Riccardo Milani, available to watch online on iFILM, starring Pierfrancesco Favino and Miriam Leone.

Gianni has a routine for everything — every type of woman, every situation, every conversation. When he sets his sights on Chiara, he discovers she uses a wheelchair following an accident. His solution is to fake a broken leg, reasoning it gives him common ground. What he didn't plan for is that Chiara doesn't play along with charm. She's direct, self-sufficient and completely immune to the moves Gianni has spent years polishing.

Favino, better known for intense dramatic work in films like Il Traditore, turns out to have real comic timing, and his Gianni is likeable even when he's being ridiculous. What keeps the film from sliding into sentimentality is that Milani and the writers treat Chiara's situation as a fact of her life, not a lesson for Gianni to learn.
