Synopsis

Jax is barely holding things together on her reservation when her sister vanishes. Child services move to place her niece Roki with the girl's grandfather — far from the only home she has known. Out of options, Jax puts Roki in the car and drives toward the Grand Nation Powwow in Oklahoma City, where her sister might have left a trace.
The film premiered at Sundance and carries that unhurried independent energy throughout. Gladstone, fresh off her Oscar nomination for Killers of the Flower Moon, brings the same economy of expression here — the performance trusts silence in a way that most films don't.
