Synopsis
American Honey (2016) is Andrea Arnold's road drama you can watch online on iFILM. Eighteen-year-old Star bails on a dead-end home and climbs into a van full of drifters who sell magazine subscriptions door to door across the Midwest. There's no going back to the old life.
The crew answers to Krystal, a hard-edged boss played by Riley Keough, while Star falls fast for Jake, the charming and unreliable salesman Shia LaBeouf plays in a rat tail and neon shirt. First-timer Sasha Lane, whom Arnold spotted on a beach during spring break, anchors nearly every frame. Shot in a boxy 4:3 ratio, the film drifts through motels and gas stations to a loud hip-hop soundtrack. Don't expect a tidy plot. Expect three hours of life on the move.
