Synopsis
Out of the Blue (Buongiorno papà, 2013) is an Italian comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Andrea is a smooth, fortyish product-placement man who coasts through life and a rotation of much younger girlfriends — until one morning a seventeen-year-old named Layla rings his bell and announces she is his daughter.
She doesn't come alone. In tow is her grandfather Enzo, a washed-up rock star who acts younger than the teenager he's chaperoning, and the two of them move straight into the bachelor's tidy apartment. Suddenly there's a moody kid with headphones on the couch, the late-night dates are off, and Andrea has to ask himself what he's actually been doing with his life.
Edoardo Leo directs and takes a role himself, backed by a sturdy cast led by Raoul Bova alongside Marco Giallini and Nicole Grimaudo. It's a warm, easygoing coming-of-age comedy in which the one who has to grow up is pushing forty. Stream Out of the Blue online on iFILM.
