Tales from the Crypt

Tales from the Crypt (1972) is a British horror anthology you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Freddie Francis for Amicus Productions. Five stories drawn from the original EC Comics — the same titles that American censors tried to ban in the 1950s for corrupting the youth.

Five tourists wander into a vault beneath the catacombs and find themselves face to face with the Crypt Keeper, played by Ralph Richardson with a calm that makes him far more unsettling than any monster. He shows each visitor exactly how their story ends. Joan Collins plays a wife with murder on her mind; Peter Cushing is a gentle retiree driven to the edge by cruel neighbors; the remaining tales follow adultery, guilt, and a particularly grim kind of justice.
