Synopsis
Jane Fonda in Five Acts (2018) is an HBO documentary you can watch online on iFILM. Director Susan Lacy organizes Fonda's life around five men who shaped each chapter — her father Henry, director Roger Vadim, activist Tom Hayden, mogul Ted Turner, and finally Fonda herself as the fifth act.
Two Academy Awards, They Shoot Horses Don't They?, the exercise-video empire that made her a household name in the 1980s, the Hanoi trip that split American opinion — Fonda covers all of it on camera, including the eating disorders she kept hidden for decades. Robert Redford and Lily Tomlin offer their own perspectives alongside her.
What emerges is a portrait of a woman who kept reinventing herself not from ambition alone but because each version of her life eventually ran out of room. Stream Jane Fonda in Five Acts online on iFILM.
