Synopsis

The show's premise is simple and consistently unsettling: murder, suicide, and prolonged suffering leave impressions that outlast the people involved. Discovery Channel produced the series as a mix of first-person testimony from real witnesses and dramatic re-enactment, and the combination tends to land harder than straight fiction. Paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren — whose real-life casework inspired The Conjuring franchise — appears in several episodes.
