Synopsis
The Last Witness (2018) is a British-Polish thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Piotr Szkopiak. London, 1946. An ambitious young journalist (Alex Pettyfer) is approached by a Polish survivor (Robert Więckiewicz) who is carrying evidence of a mass killing: in spring 1940, NKVD units shot more than 22,000 Polish officers, intellectuals and civil servants in the forests near Katyń and at other sites. The story has been buried ever since.
His editors want nothing to do with it. The British government's alliance with the Soviet Union outweighs any inconvenient truth. Michael Gambon and Talulah Riley appear in supporting roles that give the film its period weight.
