Synopsis

Daniel Mantovani has mined his hometown of Salas for literary material for forty years without going back. The invitation to receive an honorary citizenship feels harmless enough. It isn't. Back in Salas, townsfolk compete for his attention in ways that range from fawning to resentful, and several of them are quietly furious about recognizing themselves in his novels. What begins as a nostalgic homecoming curdles into something stranger and sharper.
Oscar Martínez plays Mantovani with a chill precision that makes the character both maddening and recognizable — a man so long inside his own head that he has genuinely forgotten what real people are like.
