Synopsis
The Prisoner (2009) is a six-part mystery you can watch online on iFILM. A man comes to in the middle of a desert with no memory of how he got there or who he is. James Caviezel plays him, and from now on he answers to a number: Six.
The place is called the Village. Everyone here goes by a number, any memory of an outside life is treated as a delusion, and someone is always watching. Running it all is Two, played by Ian McKellen as a smiling, fatherly figure who can turn cold in a heartbeat. Six fixates on a single question — whether the Village has an edge, and whether anyone ever leaves. Hayley Atwell and Ruth Wilson anchor the relationships that decide who Six can trust.
This miniseries reworks the cult 1967 British series of the same name, with director Nick Hurran trading the spy-thriller paranoia of the original for a slow puzzle about memory and identity. The tagline says it best: you only think you're free. Stream every episode of The Prisoner online on iFILM.
