Synopsis
Give Me Liberty (2019) is a film you can watch online on iFILM — director Kirill Mikhanovsky's Sundance debut that took home a Special Jury Award. The setting is Milwaukee, statistically one of the most racially segregated cities in the United States, and the day goes wrong from the first scene.
Vic (Chris Galust) drives a medical transport van for a living. A routine shift falls apart when his Russian grandmother needs a ride to a very loud funeral, and her circle of émigré friends — Maksim Stoyanov, Darya Ekamasova, Tatyana Egorova — pile in uninvited. Vic also promised a solo ride to Tracy (Lauren 'Lolo' Spencer), a young Black woman with ALS who needs him to actually show up on time.
