Stories Not to Be Told (Historias para no contar, 2022) is a Spanish comedy you can watch online on iFILM, an anthology from director Cesc Gay made of five separate tales. Each one catches its characters in exactly the kind of moment nobody admits to over dinner.

A husband comes home from a work trip to find his wife oddly flushed and jittery. A couple try to nudge their best friend toward a woman with a troubling past. Lovers end up in a fix with no graceful way out. People fib over small things, make ridiculous choices, and can't bring themselves to stop even when they see it coming. The episodes are short, sharp and land right where you laugh and wince at the same time.

The ensemble is loaded: Maribel Verdú, Javier Cámara, Antonio de la Torre, Chino Darín and Alexandra Jiménez. Gay has long had a knack for the uncomfortable truths between people who are close, and here he delivers them in quick, wry strokes.
