Synopsis
Husband & Wife (Moglie e marito, 2017) is an Italian comedy directed by Simone Godano — watch it online on iFILM. Pierfrancesco Favino and Kasia Smutniak play Andrea and Sofia: a couple ten years in, one foot out the door, and actively considering divorce. Then a botched scientific experiment drops them inside each other's bodies.
Sofia is now the one who has to hold a scalpel and perform surgeries she didn't train for. Andrea gets to face live television in his wife's skin. Neither is remotely prepared. The film's best move is casting: Favino and Smutniak visibly throw themselves into mimicking each other's gestures and rhythms, and that physical commitment carries the comedy further than the script alone would manage.
Body-swap as a premise is older than cinema, but the marital-crisis angle gives it enough specific friction to stay lively. A lightweight Italian comedy with two leads who are clearly having a good time. Stream Husband & Wife (2017) online on iFILM.
