Synopsis

Humanoids from the Deep (1980) is an American sci-fi horror you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Barbara Peeters and produced by Roger Corman's New World Pictures. A small fishing community on the Pacific Northwest coast is gearing up for its annual salmon festival while something genetically wrong is working its way up from the ocean floor.

The culprit is a corporate aquaculture experiment gone badly sideways — engineered salmon released into local waters, with unforeseen consequences for what else lives down there. The mutated creatures surface at night. Doug McClure and Ann Turkel play the locals who put the pieces together first; Vic Morrow plays a man with a separate agenda who makes the situation messier than it needs to be.

This is Roger Corman creature-feature territory — explicit, fast-paced, and not pretending otherwise. The practical effects hold up better than most films of the era at this budget level, and the festival sequence at the end delivers exactly what the tagline promises.
