Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed
The Most Frightening Frankenstein Movie Ever!
Synopsis
Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969) is a British Hammer horror you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Terence Fisher. The Baron has picked up the scalpel again.
Victor Frankenstein is consumed by his latest scheme. To get at the research locked inside the head of a colleague confined to an asylum, he blackmails a young couple — Anna and her doctor fiancé — into helping him, then arranges a kidnapping. His plan is to restore the man's shattered mind by moving his brain into another body. It goes wrong, and the creature that wakes is tormented by knowing who he once was and whose shell he now inhabits.
The fifth chapter in Hammer's Frankenstein cycle, this one came from director Terence Fisher, with Peter Cushing playing the Baron for a sixth time — colder and more pitiless than ever. Veronica Carlson appears alongside Freddie Jones as the wretched test subject. It's a dry, cruel piece of Gothic horror prized for Cushing's performance and a bleak finale rather than any effects.
