Synopsis
Eaten Alive! (Mangiati vivi!, 1980) is Umberto Lenzi's Italian cannibal horror, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Sheila Morris flies to the jungles of New Guinea looking for her missing sister and hires a burnt-out expat guide to take her upriver.
The trail leads to a cult buried deep in the rainforest. Its leader, Jonas, is openly modeled on Jim Jones — a preacher who turned a patch of jungle into his own Jonestown. Janet Agren plays the desperate sister, Robert Kerman the hired protector, and Ivan Rassimov the messiah ready to feed outsiders to his flock. The further the pair pushes into the green, the slimmer their odds of walking back out.
Lenzi built the film as a patchwork, splicing in violent footage lifted from Deep River Savages, Jungle Holocaust and other cannibal pictures of the era. The result is pure Italian exploitation: grimy, gleefully nasty, not for weak stomachs. Stream Eaten Alive! (1980) online on iFILM if grindhouse shock cinema is your thing.
