Doctor Butcher M.D.

Doctor Butcher M.D. (Zombi Holocaust, 1980) is an Italian gut-muncher that fuses zombie and cannibal horror, and you can watch it online on iFILM. When corpses start going missing and gnawed at in New York hospital morgues, the trail points to immigrants from a remote island, so a doctor and a morgue assistant sail off to find the source of the cannibalism.

Ian McCulloch and Alexandra Delli Colli lead the expedition. The locals who greet them on the island aren't friendly hosts but a hungry tribe of flesh-eaters — and that's the least of it. Hiding in the jungle is a deranged surgeon running experiments on the living and the dead, turning his victims into mindless zombie servants. From there it's a near-nonstop parade of disembowelments, severed limbs and shambling corpses, staged with zero restraint.

Director Marino Girolami cashed in on the success of Lucio Fulci's Zombie and laid the fake guts on thick; the film hit US grindhouses retitled Doctor Butcher M.D. and quickly earned a cult reputation among gorehounds.
