Synopsis
Lakshya (2004) is Farhan Akhtar's Indian war drama, available to watch online on iFILM. Running close to three hours, it stars Hrithik Roshan as a drifting rich kid and Amitabh Bachchan as the commanding officer who sees something in him.
Karan has money and no purpose. His days are parties, drinks and girls; his family has long stopped expecting anything from him. On a whim he enlists in the army, then bolts the moment training gets hard. Back home he meets nothing but cold disappointment, and his girlfriend Romila (Preity Zinta) walks away from a man with no direction. Stung, Karan returns to the barracks for real this time, determined to prove he can finish something. The road leads to a frozen mountain ridge where a careless boy has to become an officer worth following.
The film draws on the 1999 Kargil conflict, and its tagline says it plainly: it took him 24 years and 18,000 feet to find himself. This is big-canvas Bollywood, songs and all, for viewers who like their coming-of-age stories loud and earnest. Stream Lakshya (2004) online on iFILM.
