Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World (2023) is Radu Jude's pitch-black comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Overworked, underpaid production assistant Angela drives across Bucharest from dawn until well past midnight.

A multinational corporation has hired her to cast a workplace-safety video, so she films people maimed on the job and hunts for the one whose story can be reshaped to fit the company line. Between gigs she vents on TikTok as a vulgar, filter-bearded alpha-male alter ego. Jude splices her endless day with footage from a 1981 Romanian film about a woman taxi driver, letting two eras of the same city argue with each other.

The result is a loud, talky, very current screed about labor, exhaustion and corporate cynicism. It runs nearly three hours and feels like a marathon — which seems to be exactly Jude's point. Ilinca Manolache carries the whole thing, with Nina Hoss turning up briefly. Strictly for viewers who like their arthouse smart and deliberately uncomfortable. Stream the film online on iFILM.
