Synopsis

Evelyn (Julianne Moore) runs a shelter for survivors of domestic abuse and spends her days fixing strangers' lives. With her own son Ziggy, nothing connects. He (Finn Wolfhard) plays earnest songs to thousands of online followers and keeps fumbling his crush on a sharp girl at school. So each one looks elsewhere: Evelyn latches onto a quiet teenager at the shelter, Ziggy chases a girl who's out of his reach. Both reach for a stand-in rather than face the person across the kitchen table.
