Dorm

Dorm (เด็กหอ, 2006) is a Thai ghost story and coming-of-age drama you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Songyos Sugmakanan, it follows a boy shipped off to an all-boys boarding school far from anyone he knows.

Twelve-year-old Ton lands at the school not for bad grades but for catching his father with the maid. On his first night the older boys scare the newcomer with stories of a campus ghost. The catch: the ghost is real. It never shows up in photographs, it cannot sense anyone holding their breath, and only dogs and one lonely person can see it at all. A quiet friendship grows between the living boy and the restless spirit, and Ton starts walking the line between worlds to free the ghost from reliving its own death every single day.

Do not come for jump scares. Sugmakanan made a gentle, melancholy film where the real fear is a child's loneliness away from home, with the supernatural as a way into it.
