Synopsis
Mark of the Vampire (1935) is a gothic horror-mystery from Tod Browning you can watch online on iFILM. A Prague gentleman, Sir Borotyn, is found dead with two punctures on his throat, the smell of bats hanging in his manor, and the local villagers swearing the undead walk the district again.
Suspicion falls on Count Mora — a pale aristocrat played by Bela Lugosi — and his silent daughter Luna, who drifts through the castle in a shroud by moonlight. With the police helpless, the family turns to Professor Zelen, an occult scholar brought to life by Lionel Barrymore, while the dead man's daughter Irena becomes the next mark for whatever hunts young blood. Browning builds dread out of fog, cobwebs and shadow rather than gore — pure 1930s MGM atmosphere.
The picture is a loose remake of Browning's own lost silent London After Midnight, and it hands Lugosi a role that plays straight off the fame of his Dracula. The ending keeps a twist I won't spoil — only that it recolors everything you've just seen. A moody hour of vintage black-and-white chills. Stream Mark of the Vampire (1935) online on iFILM.
