Gemini (Sōseiji, 1999) is a Japanese horror film from Shinya Tsukamoto you can watch online on iFILM. In post-war Japan, young doctor Yukio seems to have it all: a respected practice and a beautiful wife, Rin, who lost her memory in a fire. Then a smell of rot creeps into the house, and Yukio starts sensing eyes on him from the dark.

After both his parents die without warning, a ragged stranger from the slums ambushes the doctor in his garden and drops him down a well. The intruder then slides into his place — his home, his bed, his whole life. He's Yukio's mirror image, back to settle an old score, and his ties to Rin's past run deeper than anyone admits. Masahiro Motoki plays both men, with Ryo and Tadanobu Asano alongside him.

Adapted from a tale by Edogawa Rampo and shot in Tsukamoto's unmistakable style — screaming color, industrial noise, a physical sense of being trapped — Gemini will reward viewers after Japanese horror about class guilt and buried sin rather than cheap jump scares.
