Sexmission

Sexmission (Seksmisja, 1984) is a Polish sci-fi comedy by Juliusz Machulski that you can watch online on iFILM. Two men volunteer to be frozen for three years and wake up half a century later in a world with no men left.

Albert and Maks (Olgierd Łukaszewicz and Jerzy Stuhr) climb into hibernation pods for science. They thaw out in 2044 instead: a catastrophe has wiped the surface, humanity moved underground, and the new society is made up entirely of women who've engineered men out of existence. The two relics are scheduled for "correction." They'd rather run — and find out what's really going on up top.

Behind the slapstick, Machulski smuggled in a sharp jab at totalitarian rule, and Polish audiences in the 1980s caught every bit of it. The closing twist has been quoted for decades. Crude, inventive and still genuinely funny. Stream Sexmission (1984) online on iFILM.
