Synopsis
Monstrum (물괴, 2018) is a Korean period action-horror film you can watch online on iFILM. Director Huh Jong-ho sets the story in the Joseon kingdom in 1528, when a sweeping plague has already pushed the country to the edge — and then sightings of something enormous and predatory start coming in from Mount Inwang.
The court reads it as mass hysteria, a symptom of fear. Then the creature gets too close to King Jungjong for that explanation to hold. A former royal guard commander is sent into the mountain with a small team to find out what's actually up there. The film earns its monster-movie credentials while staying grounded in period detail — and it keeps the beast offscreen just long enough that when it finally arrives in full, it lands.
