Detainment (2018) is a 30-minute dramatic short you can watch online on iFILM. Its dialogue comes almost verbatim from real police interview transcripts, as two ten-year-old boys are questioned over the disappearance and killing of a toddler.

Director Vincent Lambe refuses to lecture or to comfort. He drops you into the interview room and makes you listen, and the children's answers are hard to sit through. Ely Solan and Leon Hughes give performances raw enough that the film sparked a public outcry back home — yet it still landed an Oscar nomination for Best Live Action Short.
